We have annual reunions, usually in September, although we have had them in July and August.
Our reunions usually last 4 or 5 days, and we average about 300 guys and their wives and/or guests.

• Wednsday - Auguest 11, 2010, Regestration will begain
  
  
• Thursday - we will go "home" to Bennington, Vermont for a memorial service at our ship's bell,
  
  followed by a cook out hosted by the Bennington Fire Department.
  
  
• Friday - will be a free day for socializing in the hospitality suite,
  or taking a duck tour,
  or trolley tour of Albany leaving from the hotel.
  Also, within walking distance is the Destroyer Escort USS Slater DE 766
  ( see http://www.ussslater.org/ for more information )
  
  
• Saturday - will be our breakfast business meeting and banquet.
  
  
• Sunday - we will all return "HOME" to Bennington to march or ride in the Bennington Battle Week End parade.
  
  We are trying to set a record of the largest military contingent to march in the parade.
  You have heard several stories about some of us in the parade in the last few years,
  but words and pictures can never describe the feeling you get as you march down Main St.
  and the people applaud and salute as you go by.
  
  INFORMATION ABOUT UNIFORM AVAILABILITY
  
  There has been word that the uniforms that were standard at the time we were in the service,
  CV 20, CVA 20 and CVS 20, are no longer available at the navy uniform sources.

  UNIFORM INFORMATION

  From Doug Corrao Jan 12, 2010 Shipmates, I went through an exercise yesterday where I can order a Navy uniform for the Parade in Bennington Vt. Specifically the uniform when I was discharged at Treasure Island in 1965. I called the Navy Uniform Support Center in Norfolk, VA. Call 757-502-7450 or 800-368-4088 and talk to a support individual. They provided me instructions for requesting a uniform. You have to fax (800) 551 6289 or e-mail (Virginia_lear@nexweb.org) your DD214 showing an HONORABLE Discharge and a cover letter requesting a uniform. Should you have 2 or more DD214’s send the latest copy. In your cover letter tell them why you are ordering the uniform, and specifically what you want, i.e. hat, pants, white jumper (you will need a nekerchief with a jumper) or short sleeve shirt. Provide them the dimensions presently on your civilian clothes, i.e. pants waist size and inseam and your shirt size/collar size. You can also request your medals/ribbons through them. In your cover letter include your name, address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address. They will subsequently contact you with what is available, prices and where you want the uniform Shipped to.
